IYB Men's Basketball League was founded by former James Madison University standout player and Bergen County High School legend, Kent Culuko in 1999. Kent is a former professional basketball player in First Division Pro Leagues in Argentina, Germany, Finland, Bulgaria, S. Africa and was with the NJ Nets (NBA) 1997.
The league is in its 13th year and has attracted many of the area's most talented ballers over the years, especially in the summer months when many former and current college and professional players enter teams.
The league provides a competitive atmosphere for skilled athletes to compete at a very high level one night per week for 8 weeks, and then enter into a playoff style tournament, capped by a best of three championship finale.
Currently the league is being hosted at Coastal Sports on Madison Road in Fairfield, NJ and in the summer all games are played in Wayne, NJ at the Wayne PAL building.
T-shirts are provided to all teams that enter, two sanctioned officials work each game, the courts are well maintained, and full size score boards are in use at all times. League fee is $1,000 per team or $140 as a Free Agent. Fees MUST be paid by 3rd week of season or each game after that will be a forfeit until balance is paid in full.
Please see OFFICIAL RULES page for more information regarding rules of play and participation.
